I used to be a manager for shell
我曾经担任壳牌公司的主管
working on their logistics operations in different parts of the world
负责在世界各地的物流业务
I set up Strategic Analytics Team in 2016

and we're a ogistics operational expertise management company

the course of our business looks after things like driver training Road Safety

and we also have specialists who look after load consolidation

We look after analytics of data

and how that data worksand we take all the information

and help businesses grow and improve

Strategic Analytics Team looks at data sets and the informationthat we can get from it that (they're taking from) telematics systems that are based inside the vehicles

using that data that we take for over a three-month period

We can then use that to understand the drivers behavior while they're out on the road

This is really important

because it allows us to see whether the driver is speeding braking harshly

and we can then use that in his additional training to improve the behaviors

that he's adopted this

then takes awaythose speeding behaviors and harsh braking events and

overall for the company

that will then reduce the hazard that the driver is presenting on the road

It will encourage the driver to drive in a more courteous manner

and making it safe for other road users

An additional benefit for companieswill be that they will save fuel

and that in turn is much better for the environment

嗨 大家好 我是马诺健(Manoj Jain)
and I am very privileged to work with them

Thank you very much for listening to me
感谢大家抽出宝贵的时间来收听我们的节目
I would like to share with you
很乐意与大家分享
that the drivers and driver safety
驾驶与经济相关的
are somewhat related to economics
驾驶安全话题
so consider if there are so many hours
想一想我们每天有多少时间
we spend in traffic every day
花费在乘坐交通工具上
Our life is very unproductive
我们的生活很低效
It brings economic consequences down
这样的低效生活导致经济下滑
On the other hand
另一方面
if you were to look at the number of deaths
看一下死亡人数
that happen because of lack of safety
由于缺乏驾驶安全意识 导致很多人在交通意外中死亡
It brings a national loss
造成国家损失
So I hypothesized
因此 我假设
and then on that hypothesis research
根据我的假设所做的研究
is there a relationship between economics
研究经济之间的关系
and is that between economics and the driver safety
以及经济与驾驶安全之间的关系
Upon deeper research we found out
经过深入研究发现
yes there is a research study done by a group of app developers
由应用程序开发员完成的一项研究
who looked at 50 million drivers
研究了5000万名有丰富经验的驾驶员
who rated top 10 and top worst countries with driving experiences
驾驶员均来自驾驶经验排名前十和后十的国家
and what we found out the top 10 countries
我们发现驾驶经验排名前十的国家
their GDP per capita is average 37 thousand dollars per year
每年人均GDP是37000美元
On the other hand
另一方面
the bottom 10 countries with driving experience
驾驶经验排名后十的国家
their average GDP per capita per year is only fourteen thousand dollars
每年人均GDP只有14000美元
so it is not a cause in effects relationship
就算不是经济因素造成的
but definitely economics and driver safety are somewhat related
但驾驶安全绝对和经济有关
Based on this what we found out
在此基础上
what causes the driver safety
什么因素会影响驾驶安全呢
What causes the interesting driving situation to take place
什么因素导致发生这么有趣的驾驶情况呢
and one of those is investments
其中一个因素是投资
whether the investment is an infrastructure
不管是基础设施投资
or the investment is in technology definitely it helps
还是技术投资 均绝对起到了助力作用
over the last twenty-five years
过去二十五年中
so Chinese have done immense job in building infrastructure
中国大量建设基建工程
and that has resulted enormous improvement in driver safety
大大改善了驾驶安全
Also on the other hand
还有一点
it can be determined if the technology is used whether it's for surveillance
确定如果采用技术是用于监管
it is for education; it's simulation
教育 还是模拟
deep data analytics to perform
经过深入数据分析
predictive patterns on traffic
预测交通状况
that results in better outcomes and increase driver safety
改善路况和驾驶安全
Finally the biggest question biggest answer remains
最后 最大的问题 最详尽的答案
that driver safety is the best
是达到最佳驾驶安全
when there is sufficient training
这需要大量的训练
so the impact of training cannot be minimized
因此 不可弱化训练的影响
adequate training means better driver outcome
通过大量的训练可以培养更为出色的驾驶员
Based on this we leave three questions for you
在此基础上 留给大家三个问题
and the questions are related to driver safety
这些问题均与驾驶安全息息相关
The first question is
第一个问题是
There are many stakeholders
存在很多利益相关方
There is the government There are the people There are police
涉及政府 普通百姓 警察
There are industries There financial institution
各个行业以及金融机构
There are all these stakeholders in driver safety
这些利益相关方均与驾驶安全有关
I use these financial institutions
我之所以提到金融机构
because they ensure the drivers
因为他们可以担保驾驶员的安全
I use industry because industry uses the drivers as employees as employers
提到各个行业 是因为每个行业都离不开驾驶员
And end the rest
最后
so there's so many stakeholders
还有其它的很多利益
do they all understand the importance of training
相关方都明白培训的重要性
do they all understand and appreciate the impact of driver safety and economics
也都懂得驾驶安全与经济的影响
that's important to understand
这很重要
The second important question that has to be answered is
第二个要回答的重要问题是
if there is to be an investment in infrastructure
如果投资基础设施 如何获得收益
how do we get appropriate returns
and there are a number of things
同时 存在诸多相关因素
that are whether from research
不管是考虑研究
from using mechanisms of phase development and others
还是考虑阶段发展机制等等
They have to be well understood and research
我们都要很好的理解这一点
because adequate investment
因为适当投资
will ensure a high outcome on driver safety
会提高驾驶安全
and finally I would leave you all to answer an important question
最后 我留给大家一个重要问题
which is how is technology changing the world of drivers
技术如何改变驾驶
going forward can drivers artificial intelligence
今后 人工智能或者更多先进技术的运用
be used for improving driver safety or with advanced technologies
会大大提高驾驶安全性能
drivers are not even going to be required
甚至可以实现无人驾驶
We see so much experiment being done in the world without drivers cars
我们知道许多国家都在进行无人驾驶的试验
If that's coming is this redundant
如果未来是这样
will it improve our quality of life
无疑会提高我们的生活品质
